About diagnosis, treatment and recovery
What is the oncology council (tumor board) and how is my treatment decided?
The oncology council is a board where the medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, surgical oncologist, radiologist and pathologist evaluate each case together. Your decision is made by this board, not a single physician.
Why do different patients with the same cancer get different treatments?
Treatment is shaped by the cancer type, stage, molecular features and overall health, so even in the same cancer each patient receives an individual plan.
What are the advantages of robotic oncological surgery over open surgery?
Robotic surgery offers millimetric precision, less bleeding, smaller incisions, a nerve- and organ-sparing approach, clearer surgical margins and a shorter recovery.
How is the treatment order decided: surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy first?
The sequence is set by the council. Some patients start with surgery, others with chemotherapy or radiotherapy; the goal is the most effective and safest order.
Which documents do I need for a second opinion?
A pathology report, imaging (CT/MRI/PET) and your current medical summary are enough. Once you share these, the council review begins.
What is the difference between chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy?
Chemotherapy targets fast-dividing cells; immunotherapy strengthens the immune system against cancer; targeted therapies act on specific molecular features of the tumor.
When is radiotherapy (IMRT/SBRT) preferred?
Radiotherapy is used to shrink tumors, eliminate residual cells after surgery, or treat cases not suitable for surgery. IMRT and SBRT spare healthy tissue.
How are nutrition, pain and psychological support provided during treatment?
Throughout treatment, our team provides oncology nutrition, pain management and psycho-oncology support to protect your quality of life.
How does the process work for international patients?
Remote evaluation, visa invitation, transfer, accommodation and a medical interpreter are coordinated end to end; your plan is clarified before you arrive.
How are follow-up and tele-oncology handled after treatment?
Your follow-up visits are scheduled, and after you return home regular monitoring continues via tele-oncology.
