Frequently asked questions
How is treatment decided after a diagnosis of gynecological cancer?
The decision is made after determining the type and prevalence of the disease. For this purpose, imaging and pathology results are combined. The order of treatment is determined in the council attended by more than one department. The order in which surgery, drug therapy and radiation therapy will be applied is based on this evaluation.
Is robotic or laparoscopic surgery suitable for every patient?
No. Suitability is determined by evaluating the size and location of the mass, the stage of the disease, previous abdominal surgeries and the patient's cardiopulmonary fitness. The surgery can start with a closed method and then switch to an open method if necessary. This is a decision taken for security reasons.
My smear result was abnormal, do I have cancer?
An abnormal screening result does not mean a diagnosis of cancer. It often indicates cellular changes or a temporary infection that can be healed. In this case, a detailed examination called colposcopy and, if necessary, a biopsy is planned. Diagnosis is made only through pathology results.
Why is high blood pressure monitored closely during pregnancy?
High blood pressure during pregnancy may be an early sign of conditions that may affect the health of the mother and baby. For this reason, it is monitored together with blood pressure measurement, protein testing in urine and blood tests. Frequency of follow-up and timing of birth are re-evaluated according to the severity of symptoms.
