About diagnosis, treatment and recovery
Can Parkinson's be treated?
Parkinson's cannot yet be cured, but symptoms can be successfully managed with medication for years; with the right regimen most patients stay active.
When should levodopa start — is starting early harmful?
Current practice is not to delay treatment when symptoms impair quality of life; the old "save levodopa" view no longer holds. The plan follows your age and symptom profile.
My medication no longer works as well — what can be done?
On-off fluctuation is common as disease progresses; "on" time is extended with dose-interval, formulation and add-on adjustments. If insufficient, DBS is evaluated.
When is it time for DBS?
When fluctuations and dyskinesia impair quality of life despite medication adjustments and cognition is suitable, DBS candidacy is board-evaluated.
Is my tremor Parkinson's or essential tremor?
They are different diseases with different treatments; the distinction is made by movement-disorder examination and imaging when needed.
What is the role of exercise?
Regular task-oriented exercise is the strongest complement to medication; our robotic rehabilitation program is synchronized with your medication on-periods.
Are sleep, constipation and mood problems also from Parkinson's?
Yes; these are non-motor symptoms and an equal part of the plan. They are not overlooked — each is managed.
How does the process work for international patients?
Remote assessment, visa invitation, transfer, accommodation and interpreter are coordinated end to end; dose updates continue via tele-medicine.
