About diagnosis, treatment and recovery
Is MS treatable?
While MS cannot yet be cured, modern DMTs markedly reduce relapse rates and new lesions; early treatment delays long-term disability.
What is a DMT (disease-modifying therapy)?
Drugs that change the disease course by reducing relapses and MRI activity; available as tablets, injections or infusions. The choice depends on your disease activity.
How do I recognize a relapse and what should I do?
A new or clearly worsening neurological symptom lasting over 24 hours suggests a relapse; contact us promptly for early corticosteroid treatment.
What if I relapse despite treatment?
Relapses and MRI findings are reviewed together; if needed, escalation to a higher-efficacy DMT is planned by the board.
How do medical treatment and rehabilitation differ?
Drugs target the disease biology; rehabilitation trains functions such as gait, balance and fatigue. At our center the two are coordinated — neither replaces the other.
I am planning pregnancy — what about my treatment?
Many DMTs require adjustment before pregnancy; your pregnancy plan is an input to therapy choice, managed jointly by neurology and obstetrics.
What tests are done during follow-up?
Regular neurological exams, annual (or more frequent) MRI and drug-specific safety blood tests.
How does the process work for international patients?
Remote MRI review, visa invitation, transfer, accommodation and interpreter are coordinated end to end; DMT follow-up continues via tele-medicine coordinated with your home country.
