About diagnosis, treatment and recovery
What is the difference between a neck lift and a facelift, and should they be done together?
A neck lift targets only the neck and under-chin region, while a facelift addresses the mid-to-lower face. In advanced sagging they may be planned together for a more natural transition.
Is under-chin liposuction alone enough, or do the muscle and skin also need correction?
In younger patients with good skin elasticity, liposuction alone may suffice; if there is laxity and muscle banding, the skin and muscle are corrected together.
How long does the surgery take and what type of anesthesia is used?
Duration and anesthesia (general anesthesia or sedation) vary by the planned technique and are determined for you after assessment.
How does recovery progress, and when can I return to social life?
A support garment is used in the first days; swelling and bruising are temporary. Most patients return to social life shortly, with the exact time varying per person.
Will there be scars on the neck, and where are the incisions placed?
Incisions are placed in hidden/natural creases such as behind the ear and under the chin; scar-minimizing closure techniques keep scar visibility low.
Are the results permanent, and will sagging recur over time?
Deep-tissue suspension provides a long-lasting, durable result; however, as aging continues, mild changes may occur over time.
Why do platysma bands (neck bands) form, and how are they corrected?
Platysma bands become visible as the neck muscle separates and slackens with age; they are corrected by uniting them in the midline with platysmaplasty or corset platysmaplasty.
Am I a suitable candidate for a neck lift; is there an age limit?
Adults in suitable general health with realistic expectations may be candidates; there is no strict age limit, and suitability is determined by examination.
Is a non-surgical (energy-based) neck lift possible, and in whom does it work?
In mild laxity, energy-based methods may offer limited benefit; significant sagging, excess fat and muscle banding require surgery.
How does the process, length of stay and follow-up work for international patients?
End-to-end coordination including visa, transfer, accommodation and medical interpreter is provided; length of stay and follow-up plan are arranged individually.
