About diagnosis, treatment and recovery
What is diabetes and metabolic screening, and why should I have it when I have no symptoms?
Glucose and metabolic disorders can progress silently for years; screening makes hidden glucose elevation and metabolic risk visible before symptoms appear, while still at a reversible stage.
What is the difference between HbA1c, fasting glucose, and insulin resistance (HOMA)?
Fasting glucose shows instant blood sugar and HbA1c the last 2-3 months’ average; HOMA, calculated from fasting insulin and glucose, assesses cells’ response to insulin, that is, early metabolic disturbance.
What is metabolic syndrome, and how does this screening help?
Metabolic syndrome is the co-occurrence of increased waist circumference, high glucose, high blood pressure, and disturbed lipids. The screening evaluates these criteria by reading blood pressure, waist circumference, and laboratory values together.
How should I prepare before screening, and how many hours should I fast?
Fasting blood tests and insulin measurement require fasting for a set period; the required fasting duration and preparation details are shared personally during registration.
Why is fatty liver important and how is it evaluated?
Fatty liver is closely linked to insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome. Radiation-free liver ultrasound assesses steatosis and its degree, interpreted together with liver function tests.
Do thyroid function levels affect my metabolism and weight?
Thyroid hormones directly affect metabolic rate. TSH and, when indicated, free hormone levels are measured to assess the thyroid’s effect on your metabolism and weight.
Is the screening really completed in a single day, and how long does it take?
Registration, fasting blood tests, liver ultrasound, body composition, and physician examination are mostly completed the same day in an organized flow, without waiting in line.
How and when are results evaluated, and who explains the report?
Your results are read not by one physician alone but by a team including endocrinology and internal medicine, and explained by a specialist physician with a holistic report.
If risk emerges in the results, do I receive nutrition and lifestyle guidance?
Yes. At the end of screening you receive not only a report but also personalized nutrition and lifestyle guidance tailored to your metabolic risks.
I am coming from abroad; how do transfer, accommodation, and interpreter services work?
International guests receive transfer, accommodation, and medical interpreter support; the process is organized together with your initial assessment.
