Frequently asked questions
How long does physical therapy take to take effect?
Duration varies depending on the table. In musculoskeletal pain, the change is evaluated after a few weeks' program. In neurological rehabilitation, the process spans months. What is decisive is maintaining the program regularly and not skipping home exercises, rather than the number of sessions.
Which test is performed for hand numbness?
In the first stage, which nerve is affected is evaluated through history and examination. Electroneuromyography indicates the location and degree of pressure by measuring nerve conduction. When deemed necessary, nerves and surrounding structures are examined with ultrasound. Thyroid and blood sugar tests may also be requested.
Is botulinum toxin application a permanent treatment?
The effect is not permanent. It decreases after a certain period of time and is repeated if necessary. The purpose of the application is to reduce muscle tension and create a suitable period for exercise and rehabilitation. Therefore, it provides the expected contribution when planned together with the exercise program, rather than alone.
Is walking harmful for knee pain?
It is generally not harmful. Inactivity can reduce muscle strength and increase pain. The important thing is that the load is balanced: it is recommended to walk on flat ground, with appropriate shoes and for as long as the pain allows. Stairs and hills put more strain on the knee. The program is tailored to the individual.
