Robotic Stroke & Paralysis Rehabilitation in Turkey

After a stroke or spinal cord injury, gait and arm robots train correct movement in the weak leg and arm early. The programme runs at Doruk Nilüfer alongside the pool.

HIGHLIGHTS

What stands out in this treatment

Correct Steps, Many Repetitions

The robot guides the affected leg in the correct step pattern and repeats it throughout the session.

Measured Progress

Step length and symmetry between the legs are recorded every session; the programme is updated with this data.

Arm and Hand in the Same Programme

The upper-limb robot trains the affected arm and hand in the same weekly plan.

Pool in the Same Week

Robotic sessions are planned together with balance and walking work in the pool.

Insurance & agreements

Transparent payment with contracted institutions and private insurers, at home and abroad.

Accommodation & rooms

Companion-friendly modern patient rooms and in-city accommodation support.

International patient services

Visa, airport transfer and 24/7 multilingual medical interpreters.

Transparent, guaranteed price

A quote prepared from your medical information; no extra charge for the treatments it covers.
OVERVIEW

Who it's for

Who is it for?
Those with walking loss or weakness on one side of the body after stroke
Those with paralysis (paraplegia or tetraplegia) after spinal cord injury
Those who developed paralysis after traumatic brain injury
Those with weakness or loss of grasp in the affected arm and hand
Those who have not progressed enough with conventional physiotherapy
TREATMENTS

The robotic paralysis programme

Parts of the programme
The programme is built after the physiatrist's assessment around the cause of the paralysis and the patient's level of function; robotic sessions run in the same week as land therapy and, where needed, the pool.

Gait robot

With a weak leg, patients with paralysis often step by leaning on the unaffected side or dragging the leg. The body-weight-supported gait robot guides the affected leg in the correct pattern, so the right step is trained before compensations settle in. As strength grows, robotic support is reduced.

Upper-limb robot

After paralysis, the arm and hand often recover later than the leg. The robot completes reaching and grasping in the affected arm when strength is not enough and repeats it many times; the goals are daily tasks such as eating and dressing.

FES

Functional electrical stimulation activates foot-lift, grasp and shoulder muscles at the same moment as the patient's own attempt to move. Used with robotic sessions, the muscle works together with the command the brain is trying to send.

Virtual reality and game-based therapy

Robotic exercise is tied to an on-screen task, so the patient sees the result of each movement instantly. This feedback keeps attention up during long sessions and makes repetition easier.

Shoulder protection

In a paralysed arm the shoulder can slip down from the joint because of muscle weakness (subluxation) and cause pain. Correct positioning, support and targeted stimulation protect the shoulder throughout robotic work.

Measurement and feedback

The robots record step length, symmetry, force and range of motion every session. The team follows progress by this measurement rather than impression and updates the programme at interim reviews.

Other parts of the paralysis programme
The robotic programme can run on its own, but in a paralysis plan it usually sits alongside pool and land work.

Aquatic therapy for stroke & paralysis

The step trained with the robot continues in the pool without fear of falling: water carries part of the weight and warm water relaxes muscle stiffness. Its own page explains the pool programme for paralysis.

Paralysis treatment

The paralysis treatment page explains the whole programme for a patient with paralysis, whatever the cause, and how robotic, aquatic and land therapy combine. Here you find the robots' place in that programme; there you find every option.
